Sitting is hard!
Wow. Here’s an awesome demonstration of how much a suck at fitness. I’m attempting to maintain a perfectly straight posture without leaning on the back or arms of the chair. Basically, I’m trying to sit up straight. It’s really hard. Much harder than I would have expected.
For one, it takes a lot of mental effort to maintain. I keep slowly drifting to one side subconsciously. My body is confused. It desperately wants to fall in to the spine bending contortion that is my typical at the computer sitting position.
Two, after a few minutes, my lower back is really unhappy. It’s horribly underequipped for this kind of a situation. My sides aren’t feeling that great either, as they’re constantly rescuing me from subtle drifts to one of the chair arms.
Who would have thought sitting could be such a workout? Sad.
