Guy Who Kinda Looks like Bill Thompson in Bloomberg Ad

This has been been popping up all over the place in my Google reader this morning:

At first glance, I thought was this was actually an ad for mayoral candidate Bill Thompson, since the guy sort of looks like him:

But then I read the actual ad text and remembered no one but Bloomberg could possibly afford to plaster the internets promoting himself like that. Did Mike Bloomberg just try to trick me into thinking that even Thompson would be voting for him? What else is the motivation for random non-Bloomberg, vaguely Thompson-esque guy wearing a Bloomberg NYC button in a campaign ad?
